Styles of Beyond
A duo comprising MCs Ryu and Tak (with DJ Cheapshot on production), SoB are all about rugged beats and b-boy lyricism.
They debuted with the single "Killer Instinct" b/w "Survival Tactics." Their LP 2000 Fold dropped in '98.
Tak's older brother Bilal is a longtime producer; he's worked with Ice-T, Everlast, Divine Styler, and many others.
In 1997, the Wake Up Show (Tech, Sway, and DJ Revolution) gave Styles of Beyond their Best New Artist award.
